Hidden London part 1: South East

This is a new section of my blog. Like heroes and when times weren’t tough, I will document things that I think are worthy. This time round its places in London. For all the reasons I hate London, the reasons I love it, far out weigh it.I will try and give you a couple of not well known places to check out, and perhaps get you walking on a sunday afternoon.

I lived in South East London for 3 years and every year throughout the Summer with my grandparents. here is a a snapshot of a couple of places that are known by some, but not by all.

I used to live next door to this place and i t was nice seeing everyone dressed n their tuxes and ball gowns every month.

An anthropology museum in Forest Hill. Out the way, nice gardens, nice people and nice bars that are nearby. Many a Sunday were spent here with the boy, Gareth.

I went to Atlantic City last June. The Tropicana liked us so much they  gave us one of the best rooms in the hotel for free. They also tried to chuck us out for taking pictures in the casino though. Matt went swimming in the Sea there. I didn’t because I was afraid of stepping on a syringe or swallowing one, so i just tried to find a way to get to Cape May instead.

I don’t whether it was because I was watching a soundgarden video before and the video for crystalised made me feel nostalgic in a strange way, but whatever it was, The xx are pretty good.

Saturday: Return of The King

Everyone hates him. He doesn’t box. He too defensive. He’s too cocky. Doesn’t matter. He’s the best and although he can be a bit too cocky sometimes, no one is anywhere near him in terms of technical ability.

You have to realize that most of these guys get in there and fight on heart. I fight with smarts. There is no fighter that is smarter than me. Most of these fighters are ABC, 1-2-3. I am like 4-5-6 levels above them, that’s why I’m able to beat them

Heroes: Sugar Ray Robinson

A lot of people think that Ali was the greatest boxer ever, but a lot of those people don’t watch boxing. Ray Robinson, boxed in an era where you would box each month for 15 scheduled rounds,  without the conditioning and the strict medical rules that surround boxing fights in the modern era. Robinson fought everyone and anyone and did it with such flare. They don’t make them like they used to.

Fever Fever

I’m a mess and drinking all of that beer last night certainly didn’t help matters. Alas, what are you meant to do if you have a set, and your temperature is in the 40’s? That’s right, drink so you forget that your ill. Anyway, thanks for coming down if you made the journey. We didn’t let you down.

So now I’m a doped up mess: a concoction of lemsips, lockets, ginger, lemon, honey and some alternative medicine that my aunt bangs on about. If I could be bothered to get out of bed I would get my camera and take a picture of the mess I’ve made myself. That’s a bit of a mission though, so I’m staying put.

This is good. I'm listening to it while I'm ill.

A good nights sleep will get me back to normal (I hope).

My Toys Like Me

They’re good. What makes them better than most hype bands is the fact that their singer is stupidly attractive. She liked and danced to our set too, so we really like her. Go check them out.
